Cigars, pipes, hookah, sniffs, chewing tobacco, and cigarettes are all considered as tobacco. Many types of cancers result from smoking, including mouth, larynx, throat, kidney, lung, pancreatic, esophagus, stomach, and bladder cancer.

5) Saying no to alcohol!

Vegetables and fruits are the body’s top sources of antioxidants, chemicals that help prevent cancer causing particles from damaging the body. Experts agree that a diet high in fruits and vegetables is the ideal way to stock up on cancer fighters. Carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, apricots, tomatoes, pineapple, broccoli, cauliflower etc should be added in diet.

American Cancer Society guidelines recommend eating whole vegetables and fruits as part of every meal. Dietary fibre in whole grain also helps in decreasing colorectal cancer risk. Choose whole grain food in diet like oatmeal, popcorn, barley, brown rice, quinoa. They are rich in fibre and antioxidants, helps in maintaining a healthy weight, and includes phenols, saponins and lignans which can lower the risk of cancer. A big no to red meat is the most wisest step to take. Research shows that the higher saturated fat content in red meat like beef, lamb and pork hightens cancer risk. Processed meats, anything that has been cured, salted or smoked should also be avoided as preservatives during curing, salting, or smoking process can create carcinogens.

Studies also suggest that certain compounds in red meat damage the colon, which could cause colorectal cancers. Also churring, grilling or burning meat, fish or poultry in too much heat causes heterocyclic amine to form which shows high risk of colorectal and stomach cancers. Start using vinegar, lime juice, rosemary, mint, tarragon and sage as these haven shown to reduce HCA formation.

You need to ensure that you eat food without cancer causing toxins in it!
