A Yummy and Healthy Oats Halwa Sweet Recipe to Try

Feeling like a sweet treat? Here’s a quick and delicious recipe for oats halwa that you will absolutely enjoy. This recipe is a result of one of my kitchen experiments, and trust me, it tastes yummy! As a fan of sooji ka halwa, I decided to switch sooji (Rava) with oats when my Dad brought home a 1 kg pack of oats. And ta-da! I came up with a healthier version of halwa. Here is the recipe for my Healthy Oats Halwa Sweet.

Let’s start with the health benefits of oats:

  • It aids in lowering bad cholesterol levels
  • It helps in reducing blood pressure
  • It helps in managing blood sugar levels
  • It boosts immunity

Now, let me guide you on how to make the oats halwa.

Oats – 1 cup

Sugar – 1/2 cup

Water – 1 ½ cup

Ghee – 2 tbsp

Elaichi (cardamom) – 2 pods

Raisins and melon seeds – for garnishing

Preparation Steps

1. Add 2 tbsp of ghee to a cup of oats and roast them well in a wok (kadai).
2. Roast until they turn slightly brown.
3. Pour 1 ½ cups of water and add ½ cup of sugar.
4. Let it boil on full flame for some time.
5. Once it reaches a halwa-like consistency after about 5 minutes, turn off the flame.
6. Garnish with raisins and melon seeds.
7. Enjoy your delicious oats halwa!

Now you have a healthier dessert option that is made with nutritious oats and only 2 tbsp of ghee. Enjoy it as a sweet treat and not as a main course just because it contains oats; remember, it also has sugar in it ?
