My Weight Loss Journey

I am thrilled to share my first blog post about my weight loss journey. Having been an avid reader of IndianWeightLossBlog, I feel honored to narrate my own experience.

Since childhood, I struggled with weight gain. Puberty brought significant changes to my body, making me uncomfortable with my new curves. Throughout school and college, I tried various diets without long-term success, leading to immense frustration.

As I pursued a career in media with erratic work hours, unhealthy eating habits became routine. Stress, poor diet, and hereditary factors caused hypothyroidism, pushing me into depression due to sudden weight gain.

After gaining 20kgs in two months and undergoing an appendix operation in April 2013, I received a wakeup call from my doctor to prioritize weight loss to avoid potential health issues. Determined to change, I began my weight loss journey.

By making significant lifestyle changes, I managed to shed nearly 20 kgs, aiming to reach my ultimate goal weight of 67-68 kgs. Despite facing challenges and hitting plateaus, I persevered through temptations like festive indulgences during Durga Puja and Diwali.

Key Strategies for Weight Loss:

1) Ensured a nutritious and hearty breakfast daily.

2) Avoided processed and outside food entirely.

3) Eliminated carbs from my diet initially and minimized bread consumption.

4) Cut out soda, including diet soda, from my beverage choices.

5) Started light walking post-recovery from surgery, gradually incorporating exercise.

6) Opted for carb-free dinners, focusing on salads, soups, and fruits.

7) Practiced mindful eating when dining out to balance indulgences with lighter meals afterward.

8) Incorporated healthy snacks like curd, fruits, and peanuts into my daily routine.

9) Opted for nutritious snack options such as cream crackers, peanuts, and fruit salads.

10) Replaced vending machine coffee and tea with black coffee and green tea.

Respecting my body’s needs and focusing on overall well-being have been crucial in my weight loss journey. I encourage others to embark on their path to a healthier lifestyle with determination and positivity. Remember, where there’s a will, there’s always a way!
