Get Fit with This Quick 20-Minute Pilates Workout to Tone Your Body

If you’ve noticed a decline in your muscle tone recently, you’re not alone. Many of us have become a bit out of shape after spending so much time cooped up at home. But with the world opening up again post-vaccination, it’s time to get moving and regain our strength. In a recent segment of Good Moves, Brian Spencer from East River Pilates presents a 20-minute Pilates routine that will work your entire body effectively.

Spencer designed this workout to target all muscle groups and cater to various fitness levels. He emphasizes, “We are going to be doing a classic full-body Pilates session, getting you nice and cooked from head to toe. As we go along, I will be giving out some modifications for you, if that is a better lane on the highway. And if you know something even spicier than what I’m offering, take it—live your best life.”

The routine includes exercises like forward curls, leg lifts, extensions, forearm planks, and more. Regular practice of these movements can not only build muscle but also enhance bone density, alleviate back pain, prevent injuries, improve flexibility, posture, cardio endurance, reduce stress, and boost mood.

Spencer infuses humor and positivity into the workout, referring to hamstrings as “glamstrings” and your glutes as a “she” who should be singing but in what genre? While the workout is challenging, Spencer aims to make it enjoyable and light-hearted.

So, whether you want to strengthen your body, maintain your current fitness level, or just have some fun, give this Pilates routine a try.

Press play to kickstart your fitness journey, and remember to stay consistent for lasting results!
