When you think of healthy foods to include in your diet, you cannot miss Sprouts. Sprouts are termed as “Life-generating Bio-organic foods” because they support cell regeneration in the human body.

Sprouts are full of minerals, vitamins, and protein. However, due to less fat content, they have an enormous number of health benefits. This proves why many dietitians suggest sprouts for a healthy diet.

- Helps in detoxification
- Improves digestion especially when you eat heavy foods like beans.

It’s very easy to prepare Sprouts. You need to soak seeds in a container of water. Keep them soaked overnight. Make sure that the volume of water is at least thrice the amount of sprouts. In the morning, wash the sprouts with fresh water and tie them in a soft cloth (cotton or woven). The seeds take 2-4 days to sprout. In summers, don’t forget to sprinkle water on the cloth in which the seeds are tied. This ensures that the seeds have enough oxygen and water to sprout.
You will notice how the seeds transform after sprouting.

You might think how to include sprouts in your diet. Seeds are usually tasteless but they taste delicious in salad.
You need below ingredients for sprout salad –
- 1 bowl of sprouts
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 finely chopped tomato
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Just mix the ingredients and sprout salad is ready. You might have noticed that sprout salad neither needs any special ingredient nor cooking. In case you find that the sprouts are hard to chew, you can steam them in microwave or steamer. Sprouting is one of the best ways to eat raw foods. You can also add sprouts to any salad like green salad or greek salad. I was so hungry this morning that I ate it all and forgot to click pics of sprout salad :P.
There is no fixed time for eating sprouts, they can be consumed anytime during the day, however, the recommended time is after breakfast. You give all types of good nutrients to your body in your very first meal of the day.
